Nafhesa Ali, Project Manager

Nafhesa Ali 'born and bred' in Huddersfield is Research Project Manager for the Asian Voices Project at the Centre for Oral History Research at The University of Huddersfield. Nafhesa has a background in Psychology and worked at St Lukes Hospital working with the Asian Community across South Kirklees before coming to manage the Asian Voices Project. Nafhesa is currently producing an education Pack with Phd student Chris Webb and completing the Asian Voices book publication, which will hold a collection of archives from the research. She is also at the end of her MA in Oral History in which Nafhesa is looking at migration, space and visible identity in Springwood. Stephen Dorril, Project Director  

Stephen Dorril

Stephen Dorril is director of the Oral History Unit at the University of Huddersfield. He lectures on media law and ethics, press history and aspects of film and music. He is also Course Leader for Music journalism and Media and Film Journalism and Media. With a background in investigative journalism, Dorril is an acknowledge expert on the activities and roles of the British security and intelligence services, and has been consultant to a number of national and international television and radio programmes on subjects dealing with intelligence, ranging from MI6, the CIA, Ireland, Harold Wilson, Hungary to Iran. Author of a number of internationally best-selling books, his wide-ranging research interests include the history of the press, Ireland and the relationship between journalists and the intelligence services. He is also Chair of the Holmfirth Film Festival. s.dorril@hud.ac.uk
